This cake plate is a piece of art! It was decorated by Rene’ with elaborate pink pansies and burnished gold with embossed handles. Rene’ is listed in Mary Frank Gaston’s Limoges book as a Limoges artist. The artwork is exquisite, with fine details in the blossoms and foliage.

The plate is 1-1/2” high, with a diameter of 9-1/4”. It measures 10-1/4” handle to handle. The plate is in excellent condition, without chips, cracks or crazing. There is very slight wear to the gold on one side, which is visible through a magnifying loupe. It is not visible to me without the magnifying loupe.

It is marked with the Tirschenreuth Bavaria shielf mark, with a P to the left and a T to the right.
