Square Biscuit Jar With Bird Finial

This is a lovely Wave Crest squared biscuit or cracker jar with a diamond pattern in the glass. The top of the jar is an extremely faint green with graduation to a lovely creamy white. There are no chips, cracks or repairs that I can determine in this fine jar. The flowers on all four sides of the jar are transfers which are hand colored in pink and blue and are embellished with white enamel accents. There is minor wear to the transfers. The jar without the lid is approximately 6 1/4 inches tall and 5 3/4 inches square. The jar has a white metal collar and lid with a lovely scrolled handle and a sweet bird finial on the lid. There are no silver markings or stamping on the lid and if, indeed, it is silver plated, there are some areas where there is wear to the silver. The price for this item reflects the imperfections in the silver and some minor wear to the transfers. Please look at the pictures to fully appreciate this lovely example of early art glass.
