This lovely young girl is dressed all in white. She could be a bride or this could just be a formal portrait. She has a bouquet of fully blossomed roses and wears gloves. Her bodice has leg of mutton sleeves and the front has lots of lace. The skirt is trimmed with lace and appears to have a small train, possibly from a small bustle. She is seated on a bent ironwork chair. The mat board on which the photograph is mounted measures 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. The bottom of the mat is imprinted with the name and location of the photographer. The photographer is When located in St. Louis, Missouri. The reverse of the mat has advertising for the photographer. The proprietor of the When Studio is G. E. Brucker. There is a list of the variious photographic awards the studio has been awarded. These awards span the years 1888 to 1896. These awards and the clothing style of the subject would date the photograph to the late 1800's. This cabinet card is in very good condition, having been preserved in an album until it was removed recently.
