This 8" x 10" photo on a mat board is a formal family portrait. The portrait is of a mother and father and their three grown sons. The three boys are in the back row in very formal poses with their bowler hats. The mother and father are seated in the front row of the picture and the mother must have amazingly pale blue eyes because the picture makes her almost look like she has no eyeballs. Yes they are there, but the color of her eyes is very pale. The group is posed before a background of a meadow and sky and there are very heavy ornate pieces of furniture on the sides of the picture. The reverse side of the mat board bears the handwritten inscription "Settie Ann's Christmas present 1889."
