This is a great 1920-1930's era advertising blotter. The blotter advertises Zippers boots by Goodrich. The inset shows stylish ladies of the era wearing their boots. The blotter is courtesy of Sam Sapot in St. Louis, MO. The front shows some wear and rubbing, but the blotter on the reverse side is in very good condition and has not been used as a blotter. Great fashion advertising.

Post cards with add-ons are such fun. This one is no exception! This is an early 1900's scene from Yellowstone Park with a white leather and fur cut out of a bear walking along the path. The postmark year is smeared, but I think it says 1914. The cut out is likely rabbit fur, but it looks like a polar bear walking in the park!

Mutoscope cards were dispensed from an arcade machine and featured pin-up art from some of the most distinguished pin-up and calendar girl artists. They were popular in the 1940's. This card measures 3.25 x 5.25 inches and is imprinted in the left lower corner "A Mutoscope Card." Billy DeVorss is the artist for this card. It is titled "The Lady is Waiting."

This transitional card carries the message on the back, "After March 1, 1907, this space can be used for a written message, using one-cent stamp." The card has not been put through the mail. The back is blank. The face of the card has a stamped date of Aug 13, 1908. The card is No. 1615, Summit Pike's Peak, Colo. The card was printed by the Thayer Publishing Co, Denver. Of note are the women walking along the railroad tracks on a wooden walkway to the observation deck at the summit.

This simple post card has an embossed gold painted basket with rose buds and leaves. Nestled into the basket are three large flocked open roses. The front of the card bears the date June 23, 1910 (23.6.10). The reverse of the card is addressed and stamped, but there is no post mark. There are faint shadows on the lower corners from being in an album.

"Having a Wonderful time..Wish you were here!" at the Chicago Stock yards where slaughtered hogs hand from a wheel. The Chicago Stock Yards and the plight of the workers there were made famous by the muckraker author Upton Sinclair in the early 20th century. This card shows just that. This postally used card is dated 1919. There is some discoloration along the lower left edge. The upper right corner is chipped. There is an address and message on the reverse side.

The painted signage on the buildings is of historical interest. One of the buildings is Simpson's and another sports the name Tangier Long Island. Condition is good.

Souvenir of the Chicago World's Fair Century of Progress in 1933. This is a ticket stub for one admission to Fort Dearborn. In the Century of Progress Exposition, a replica of Fort Dearborn was built to allow fair goers to see what the earliest Chicago settlement was like as a juxtaposition to the modern progress shown in the rest of the fair. This stub is in excellent used condition with a clean tear and punch and the serial number A-515093.
