This vintage eames atomic 1950’s planter would be beautiful with a fern or huge philodendron in it. Nestled in the gold colored metal round triangular three legged stand is a large fiberglass planter 11 ¼ inch deep. Many of these fiberglass planters are not around because they tend to be somewhat fragile as they crack easily green because of their age. Many companies have made these as a new retro reproduction but this one is vintage. The planter is very light weight and has a 1 ½ inch wide lip on it. The planter is a light celery green with gold iridescent string swirl pattern on it. There are a few nicks and raised spots on the finish. The bottom is 7 inches across. The owner of this planter has placed a half of a pot into the pot to protect the bottom. There is an indentation crack in the bottom that has not cracked completely through. The lip of the planter itself has a repaired piece 3 inches long that is very obvious. My thinking in still offering this item is that with a large frond plant in it the planter is still very useable and would command a wonderful presence in any room. The price has been dramatically reduced as reproductions go for $160-200. It stands with the metal frame at 15 ½ inches tall. The planter is being sold “as is”. This would be a wonderful planter to have in a sunroom or a covered porch.
