A beautiful hand made Kazuri bead in ivory and green takes front and center in this gorgeous bracelet. Joining the Kazuri focal are jade rondelles from British Columbia, large prakeuam silver beads with a floral petal motif, ivory Kazuri “shale” beads, and smaller prakeuam beads.

The Kazuri beads are hand made ceramic beads made in Kenya, with local clay and by women participating in an economic development project designed to help disadvantaged women.

The wonderful silver beads are of a style known as prakeuam and are completely handmade by descendants of Cambodian silver and gold smiths that immigrated to Thailand several hundred years ago. The silver is 95% silver—a higher silver content than sterling which is hammered into a thin sheet, cut to the desired shape, inscribed and then hand formed around a tree resin taken from pine trees. Finally, the beads are oxidized to darken the pattern.

This lovely bracelet fits a 6 – 6 ½ inch wrist, closes with an ornate sterling silver toggle clasp from Bali and is completed with a D Carey signature tag in sterling silver.
