I found this beautiful jasper, free-form pendant at a gem show in Santa Fe last summer. It is quite interesting and I wanted a different way to attach it to the necklace, so I used latigo and tied a brass and a silver colored bead to the ends. For the necklace I used hammered sterling bicones from Bali and smoky quartz nuggets flanking large cacoxenite quartz beads. Cacoxenite inclusions make amethyst worthless as a gemstone but alone in quartz, they are somewhat surreal really pretty cool. Next are corrugated sterling silver beads, also from Bali, wood spacers, huge sterling spacers from Bali and then some of the most gorgeous borosilicate lampwork beads in brown, tan and ivory. I used brushed sterling silver bicones, brass disks and rondells and beautiful , square, Robles wood beads. The design is rich and varied—good for all seasons. This necklace measures 17 ½ inches and closes with a sterling silver hook from Bali.
