Ceramic Pendant, Black Onyx, Etched Black Agate, Red Coral & Sinarin Silver Necklace

This necklace features one of my hand painted ceramic pendants with a black on red pictograph drawing of a mythological “Phoo Bird”. These pendants are extremely labor intensive—I hand cut, bevel, sand and fire the blanks. Then I carefully draw my design which takes 3 layers of glaze put down as though it was with a Sharpie pen and fire again. Then I carefully fill in the design with several colors of glaze and fire again. Although I do several at a time, they can take up to 10 days to complete.

This fantastical creature is accompanied by 3 strands of matte black seed beads, black onyx rondells, red coral disks, etched black agate and small Sinarin silver beads. This necklace measures 17 inches and the pendant is 1 ½ inches in diameter.
