We are always happy to retrofit any item to your heart's desire. However, any item whose original condition is altered just for you does not quality for our return policy. We are happy to offer a variety of retrofitting services, with your imagination our only limitation. Our gemologists and goldsmiths are antique jewelry experts. However, all sales are final for items that we customize specifically for you, including earring retrofitting, bail additions and ring resizing.

Other Information:
Cameos are carved from a variety of mediums including gemstones, hardstone agates, coral, ivory and various sea shells. We use the modern shell terms of sardonyx, carnelian (both named as they resemble the color of the sardonyx and carnelian agate stones) and pink to differentiate the particular color of a shell cameo. Scientific names vary from CASSIS MADAGASCARIENSIS, HELMET, CASSIS RUFA, CONCH, OYSTER, TIGER & more. Shell names of sardonyx and carnelian are not scientific but common nicknames used today by modern cameo carvers, as well, to simplify the color identity process. These shells are not stones from which they draw their names, just the same color range. All genuine hardstones will be identified as such.

Mediterranean coral is the very height of fashion and a fine investment because of very limited supplies. For style, quality and investment value, Italian coral is the ticket. Nothing else can compare!
