The color of the coral used in this necklace and its uniformity are extra fine and so gorgeous. This Mediterranean coral is a pure white with only a few small pink blushes from the deepest coral depths of the Mediterranean Sea. It is near the top of the line in Italian coral, so near pure white and smooth as to be the equivalent in precious coral grade as a VS1 grade diamond is in diamond grade. There are no veins, crevices or other flaws.

This is the color so very hard to find and ridiculously expensive in Italy. Your chances to own a necklace with this color, quality and price are very quickly becoming nil. White coral results from the lack of light at very deep depths in the ocean (2000 to 4500 feet). I have had many requests, sold some of my private collection and have been searching high and low for more that is affordable enough to offer, but there is just hardly any to be found like this.

This fine 1950's (my favorites are from 1950's and 60's, just before the coral bans) Italian coral necklace features gorgeous and very rare 6.8mm to 12.3mm precious white coral beads. The graduated single strand design has not and never will go out of style. You will see that pearls cannot compare.

Very unique and oh so gorgeous, this necklace is constructed of heavy, dense, precious quality hand carved and polished coral beads. The total length (closed) is 16 1/2". The finish is a lovely medium high gloss. The weight is a remarkable 42.4 grams, which attest to the quality of this coral. This weight and bead density assures a perfect lay on the decollete. This is as precious as precious coral necklaces get.

The necklace closes with a beautifully ornate round flower petal clasp in solid 14K (stamped) yellow gold with a tongue in groove closure. The clasp tongue slides shut sturdily with a distinctive click. The clasp measures 12mm (1/2 inch) in diameter. There is a petite 4mm white coral cabochon bead is the center of the gold petals for just the right touch. This necklace is in mint perfect condition.

This necklace is simply gorgeous on. This quality of this coral is as good as it gets and becoming harder and harder to come by. The design is marvelous and so elegant. A true head turner! It would be a great addition to any woman's jewelry wardrobe.
