This is a beautifully crafted vintage cameo gilt (14K gold over Sterling Silver) bracelet with eight expertly hand carved floral sardonyx shell cameos. Unusually long for most vintage/antique cameo bracelets we see, the total length is 7 3/4 inches (closed). It weighs 18.0 grams as it is very well crafted with support bars behind each cameo and sturdy findings. It was Italian custom made in the 1950's.

Each oval cameo is bezel set into custom fit frames which each measure 13/16" by 5/8" (20mm x 15mm). The carvings are excellently executed and well set. The makers mark shows that this bracelet was crafted in the Naples area, the cameo capital of the world. Also stamped "925".

The bracelet design includes high degree of craftsmanship and sturdiness. The cameo frames are connected by figure 8 connectors between the cameos which make the bracelet a versatile fit for all wrist sizes. This design allows the bracelet to gently curve to fit just right on your wrist.

All eight cameos are of forget-me-nots and are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. All the original findings are in place and in excellent condition with no evidence of any repairs.

The horticulture flower theme was popular in cameos as well as paintings in the last half of the 19th century. Victorians did love their gardens amassed with flowers! This theme has stood the test of time as floral cameos are still highly sought after today and this is a real beauty. On my last trip to Italy, I saw many new shell cameos with the still beloved floral designs, at extremely high prices but without the true beauty of these vintage carvings. The rarity of a fabulously carved floral cameo bracelet (either vintage or antique) in mint condition, is truly an asset to their investment value and they are beautiful attention grabbers when worn.
