This exquisite 14K gold brooch/pendant in the solid 14K (marked) yellow gold setting measures 1 13/16 inches long (without the bale) and 1 5/16 inches wide. The beautiful three dimensional carved coral cameo measures 1 5/8 inches long by 1 1/8 inches wide and is PERFECTLY uniform in color and smooth (any variances or rough spots in the pictures are glare from the lighting) . The entire piece weighs 18.2 grams. Few cameos being carved today out of this precious gem due to the size requirements. This is a great investment, as coral supplies are dwindling and expert carvings such as this were NOT for sale and on DISPLAY ONLY in Italy.

The large Italian handmade and heavy gold setting features unique art nouveau craftsmanship that is absolutely STUNNING. The cameo depicts a full face carving of a lovely young Italian beauty with wind-swept hair and highly-detailed facial features including a classic yet sexy Romanesque nose. Her eyes and lips are especially beautiful, all accentuated by the high gloss polish of the entire cameo. Her eyes have been brought to life with the inclusion of detailed eyelids and eyebrows, giving the feeling she is staring right through you and whispering "come hither". The light, in day or night, just dances off of this beauty, beckoning for attention! As for color and quality? This is the most desirable deep Sardinian dark red salmon color coral with a flawless smooth finish.

She is in mint perfect condition with clasp and pin all in perfect working order. There are naturally occurring swirls in the back of cameo that is original to the piece of coral. The Art Nouveau sultry carvings of women such as this came into vogue in Torre del Greco in the early 1900's and have continued in popularity. I would estimate this piece to be from the 1960's to early 1970's. It is a captivating beauty and most definitely BLING BLING!

The brooch pin closes with a safe and secure locking c-clasp and there is a hide-away, fold-down swivel bale for use as a pendant.
