HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Your Antique Coral & Cameo Connection - Free Shipping - Layaway Available
The classic novel "Treasure Island" and its story of Long John Silver inspired many a lad to dream of roaming the high seas in the late 1800's. Today, the Disney inspired movie series "Pirates of the Caribbean", with its Jack Sparrow, still evokes great intrigue and adventure. The lore of the pirate tale, with sailors setting off to sea without a care in the world, plundering ships and searching for buried treasure, was much more palatable than the reality. Handsome, strong, rugged, dashing....appeals to the youth in all men and captures the eye of all women, no?
These cufflinks are comprised of free form carvings with 10K gold links connecting to thick button cabochons. The pirates are both right facing and depicted with the classic scarf, long hair, earring, mustache and beard. The facial features are dashing and strong with details still crisp. Each pirate measures 19x13x6mm, or 3/4" by 1/2" by 1/4" tall. The hand carved buttons each measure 9mm in diameter by 5mm thick. The 16mm links and backs are not stamped, but test positive for 10K yellow gold. The total weight is 7 grams.
A fine cufflink on a French cuff makes a distinguished statement of individuality. Unlike a ring, the cufflink is an accessory that captivates its audience as it slips in and out of view beneath a jacket sleeve, with the more uncommon and unusual the better. Cuff links speak to a man's interests and are great conversation pieces. Men love them! Most carved stones are neatly nestled in a bezel. I like the free form motif of these carvings, free like the wind at a pirate's back.
These unique pirate mates will be delivered in an elegant presentation box, perfect for gift giving and storage, along with our easy coral care instructions. As the sturdy yellow gold findings disappear within the sleeve, these look great worn with yellow or white gold jewelry.
