Ornate spun 900 Silver, gently sun kissed with a pale gold wash, this lovely carnelian shell cameo pendant is sure to please. Acquired from England, it also features a lovely antique 800 Silver chain, all in pristine condition.

The pendant features a beautiful claw bezel setting, surrounded by lacy spun silver filigree, as only the Italians can do. It hangs from a large spun silver bail in the shape of a heart. The pendant is crafted from 900 silver and stamped "900" and "15CE". This grade and 800 silver were mostly used before the 1900's, but the Italians continued to use them for cameo setting until the late 1940's due to its alluring warmer color. The chain is stamped 800 silver, measures 20" long and has the same pale gold wash as the pendant. So pale is the gold wash that, when worn, it looks great with either yellow gold or silver/white gold jewelry. Total combined weight of 5.4 grams.

As an avid chain collector myself, the chain is one of the nicest antique silver chains we have had in some time, and far superior to more modern Sterling chains. It has the identical pale gold wash as the pendant and can been worn with gold, vermeil or even antique or vintage white gold pendants that have a deeper color than modern white gold jewelry.

These antique 800 silver chains were built to last, being crafted much thicker and sturdier than many of their modern counterparts. Antique chains are themselves disappearing from the resale market place (and our shop!) and are a great find to wear with all of your antique pendants. If you lucky enough to acquire one, you never want to settle for anything less!

The pendant setting including the ornate heart shaped bail measures 1 1/2" tall, and without the bail measures 1 1/8" tall, by 7/8" wide.
