The Queen of Hearts! This is a splendid example of vintage Art Nouveau style genuine carved coral artisan work from Torre del Greco, Italy!! This sultry Italian beauty is sure to capture anyone's heart! What better way to say "I love you" 365 days a year?

This exquisite 14K gold heart brooch measures 2 1/2 inches long and 1 7/8 inches wide. The beautiful three dimensional carved coral cameo measures 1 5/8 inches by 1 5/8 inches at its widest points. The entire piece weighs 23.2 grams. On my most recent buying trip to Italy, unset/strung gem quality coral such as this was trading WHOLESALE at 50 Euros per gram. You do the math! And you most certainly won't find many cameos being carved anymore out of tiis precious gem. This is a great investment, as coral supplies are dwindling and expert carvings such as this were NOT for sale and on DISPLAY ONLY in Italy.

The large handmade gold setting features unique art nouveau heart-shaped, heavy and sturdy wire work that is absolutely STUNNING. The cameo depicts a full face carving of a lovely young woman with wind-swept hair and highly-detailed facial features including a classic yet sexy Romanesque nose. Her eyes and lips are especially beautiful, all accentuated by the high gloss polish of the entire cameo. Her eyes have been brought to life with the inclusion of detailed eyelids and pupils, giving the feeling she is staring right through you and whispering "come hither". The light, in day or night, just dances off of this beauty, beckoning for attention! As for color and quality? This is the desirable deep Sardinian salmon coral with a flawless smooth finish. She is in excellent condition with clasp and pin all in perfect working order. There is a natural occurring crevice in the back of cameo that is original to the piece of coral and NOT a crack. The Art Nouveau sultry carvings of women such as this came into vogue in Torre del Greco in the early 1900's and have continued in popularity. I would estimate this piece to be from the 1960's to early 1970's. It is a captivating beauty and most definitely BLING BLING!

Could easily be converted to wear as a spectacular necklace as well! Simply slip a chain through the front loop at the top of the heart, or add a bail to the back. You won't find another piece like this at this price even if you travel to Italy. This beautiful cameo of the highest quality carving and coral really makes a statement when worn.
