SOLD 1st ED. Second Children's Book "Little Brown Koko Has Fun"
This is first edition of the the second, and last in the series of vintage children's book with short stories about the antics of Little Brown Koko, and his Mammy. Written by Blanche Seal Hunt. and illustrated by Dorothy Wagstaff. Published by American Colortype Company of Chicago and New York in 1945. Not only a great piece of Black Americana, but stories that will delight children today. This a hard cover copy, complete with the original dust jacket. Large size, measuring about 8 by 11 inches. As you can see in the photos, this book is in wonderful condition. The dust jacket shows edge wear, and has a couple of short tears on the top of the back, but has protected the colorful, illustrated cover beautifully for these 70+ years. The top two, outside corners of the hard cover have been dinged, as shown in the photos. Inside, each page has an illustration. There is NO writing, stains, creases, bends, loose or missing pages, mold or musty odor. The binding it tight, and it really looks as though it was seldom opened. The pages have slightly yellowed with age, as you would expect from a book that is over 70 years old. In my shop, I also have listed the first, and only other book in the series, and an old alarm clock with Little Brown Koko on the face. You can see these, and several other pieces of vintage Black Americana in my shop by typing, "Black Americana" in the search box at the top, left hand side of this page. I'm always happy to combine shipping.
