What better place to tuck your favorite precious jewels than this opaline egg casket nestled in it's own bronze nest. This lovely egg casket is unmarked, but definitely French in origin. The S shaped clasp works well as does the triple hinge in the back. The base is made of woven bronze strands representing twigs and blades of grass making the nest, which sets on four looped bronze feet . The bottom part of this egg casket is also bronze and was probably lined at one time. The casket is perfect, no cracks, chips or flaws of any kind that I can see. This is a generous sized casket : 4 1/2 inches X 2 3/4 inches X 3 inches
