This is a great little wooden box covered in leather and offered ,as found, full of glass buttons and beads. The box "snaps" shut tightly with a simple brass clasp. The hinge is also brass of the "piano" type and is working very well. Inside the box is the real treasure! Five large glass undecorated buttons that have a deep hollowed out concave shape on top and are multifaceted on the back. The buttons in this set measure 1 1/4 inch in diameter and are 1/2 inch deep.The next set contains five matching buttons, and one other button. The five have 4 center holes in a concave depression rimmed in black . I do not know what the black is, possibly enamel. The sixth button with this group has a concave shape with a jet center set with a rhinestone.These measure 1 1/8 inch in diameter and are about 1/4 inch deep. Next are the faceted glass beads. These vary in size from 1 inch to 1/4 inch in diameter. In all there are 62 glass beads. Plenty of beads to make a necklace or to use for decoration, or just to leave in this box for interest. The box measures 4 inches X 3 1/2 inches X 2 3/8 inches tall.
