Cranberry Glass and Enamel Dresser Jar dated 1875

This is a fine quality , richly colored cranberry glass dresser jar with an exquisitely enameled floral design. This wonderfully large dresser jar is perfect in every way. The color is rich ( not flashed ) and clear cranberry deep rose colored glass with brass mountings circling the lid and base with a good hinge and good clasp. The brass is patinaed beautifully. The enameling on top is in white with a soft blue columbine and smaller white flowers with yellow centers . The enameling is of excellent quality. Inside the lid the date is in gold (75) depicting 1875. This is one of the largest caskets I have seen of this type of mouth blown cranberry glass. Excellent condition. The enameling suggests that this piece is French. 3 1/2 inches wide, 3 1/4 inches tall
