The Maple Leaf pattern was one of the brilliantly colored and glazed patterns produced and exhibited at the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition in New Orleans in 1884 by Griffen, Smith and Company. The vibrant pinks and greens make it a favorite of mine too. The base represents a twisted trunk with maple leaves creeping up to the top of the plate. The top has a pink background with bright green leaves outlined in yellow. This piece is not marked, but is attributed to the above mentioned company. There is a chip on the base but,it has been there so long that it is the same color as the trunk-almost invisible. Provenance:America, Circa 1884, Height:5 1/2 inches, Width:9 1/2 inches
