Large French Porcelain Jewelry Casket

This represents one of the best French jewelry caskets I have ever seen. This is fine and old; there are no marks or numbers, but it is definitely French. The shape is rectangular with a bombay curvature on all four sides . Cabriole legs finish this beautiful piece. The painting is delicate and expertly done with with sprays of florals on the softest blue, magenta and white backgrounds laced with gold . The colors are very pure. There is heavy ormolu trim completely encircling the base as it joins the lid. The top has bronze banding ending in the clasp.The inside of the lid has a floral sprig and the top has a deep lip as it fits into the base. There is an indentation on the under edge of the back side. It is not a chip, and is scarcely visible from the outside. Width-7 inches; Height-5 inches; Depth-4 inches
