Pair of Staffordshire Dogs 1850

$400 USDPair of Staffordshire Dogs 1850

Pottery:Antique:Staffordshire Dogs
These Staffordshire Dogs have been a part of our family for many years. They are the real thing and beside the imitations there is no question as to their authenticity. They are unmarked as early Staffordshire was. The dogs are white with gold collars and small gold highlights . They have black and gray noses and a red mouth line. They have no major flaws. There is paint loss to the nose and eyes and age crazing. The dog on the right is slightly taller than his companion. The dog on the left has ...
Early 19th Century Copeland and Garrett Ironstone Platter

$950 USDEarly 19th Century Copeland and Garrett Ironstone Platter

Pottery:Antique:Copeland And Garrett
This platter is the smaller of the two, but I have better pictures of this one. The colors show better here than in the other listing. This platter is slightly smaller, but still huge, measuring 20 1/2 inches long by 16 inches wide. It is also a monumental piece and together they make a statement. I have seen platters this size sell for $3000 up and these are priced reasonably to , hopefully, keep them together. The color and design are magnificent. These may be flow blue. The shape and weight is ...
Majolica Begonia Leaf

$245 USDMajolica Begonia Leaf

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
This Majolica Begonia leaf dish has the most intensely fabulous turquoise color I have ever seen. I love to see several pieces of majolica grouped together, but this piece is wonderful enough to stand alone! Not only is the color great, but the glaze is excellent, there are no chips or cracks and with crazing only on the back. This is a wonderful piece of Victorian Majolica and would be a delightful addition to any collection. The begonia leaf dishes are my very favorite and this one is just the ...
Early 19th Century Copeland and Garrett Ironstone Meat-well Platter

$1,250 USDEarly 19th Century Copeland and Garrett Ironstone Meat-well Platter

Pottery:Antique:Copeland & Garrett Ironstone
This is one of a matched pair of early 19th century Copeland and Garrett ironstone platters. This large platter has juice well and has a deep foot on the bottom. It is in excellent condition , showing wear on the bottom only. It is a lovely Chinese design with strong colors of orange-red, green, yellow and a deep cobalt blue border. The mark is incised and printed under glaze dating these platters between 1833-1847. I also have the big old plate hangers that secured these to the dining room wall ...
Majolica Chrysanthemum Pitcher

$325 USDMajolica Chrysanthemum Pitcher

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
This beautifully detailed Chrysanthemum pitcher is a fine example of Victorian English majolica. The main body background is a soft turquoise with the large center flower in yellow and pink with a white center. The leaves are on each side branching from under the center flower. The inside is pink and shows crazing as does the bottom. This is a lovely piece from our majolica collection. This piece is unattributed. Height- 7 inches
Majolica Shell and Seaweed Bowl

$475 USDMajolica Shell and Seaweed Bowl

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
This Majolica Shell and Seaweed pattern bowl was made by Griffin , Smith and Co. of Phoenixville, PA. 1879-1889, and is considered to be the very finest in American Majolica. The bowl has excellent definition and color and is fully marked impressed ETRUSCAN MAJOLICA , M5 just beneath the mark. The very popular "Shell and Seaweed" pattern is one of the most sought after with majolica collectors. Small chips, while never desirable, are common on soft paste wares like majolica. This piece has ...
Majolica Pitcher

$175 USDMajolica Pitcher

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
Look closely at this pretty little Majolica Pitcher. It has a regular four sided shape , but the handle and the spout are at the corners!. I love the leaf on the handle. The daisy stem begins on one panel and the daisy flower head ends on the adjacent panel. This one is in very good condition. Primarily in shades of white, turquoise, green and yellow. Height: 5 inches, Width at widest point: 5 inches, Provenance: American, Circa: 1860-1900, Unattributed
Majolica Cuspidor

$425 USDMajolica Cuspidor

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
Majolica is great anytime, but spring seems like the best time . Majolica is so colorful and refreshing-like spring. This rare cuspidor is an excellent example of early majolica. The colors are vibrant depicting a bird in flight with a worm or small twig in her mouth on two panels and a crested bird on a branch on the other two panels. The stippled background is interrupted at the corners with aqua designed flat panels making the body eight sided. The interior is pink. The cuspidor is in great ...
Majolica Cake Stand

$475 USDMajolica Cake Stand

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
The Maple Leaf pattern was one of the brilliantly colored and glazed patterns produced and exhibited at the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition in New Orleans in 1884 by Griffen, Smith and Company. The vibrant pinks and greens make it a favorite of mine too. The base represents a twisted trunk with maple leaves creeping up to the top of the plate. The top has a pink background with bright green leaves outlined in yellow. This piece is not marked, but is attributed to the above ...

Pottery:Antique:Majolica
