A fabulous original Art Deco Bib Necklace featuring round Peking Glass pendant drops suspended from a gold color metal Bookmark Chain. Probably of Czech origin and dating to the 1930's, the Necklace measures 16 1/2 inches in length and fastens with a fancy hook clasp. The glass bead pendant drops each measure 5/8 inch in diameter and are just over 1/4 inch in depth. Strung on brass color wire, each bead drop has a smaller Peking Glass bead strung above it - giving the overall appearance of Chinese Lanterns. The total length of each drop is 1 inch. In excellent condition, the glass beads look perfect although there are variations on the surfaces due to the glass making process. For instance, looking through a jeweler's loupe, 2 of the beads have Pontil marks (caused during the glass making process). There is one bead that may have a small chip, but I am not 100% sure that this is damage. Obviously, none of this can be seen with the naked eye. The Bookmark Chain also has some small areas of wear to the surface finish, but this does not detract from the overall appearance of the Necklace.
