The Watson Silver Company, Attleboro, MA, was organized in 1874, eventually becoming R Wallace & Sons, now Wallace Silversmiths. This fantastic sterling silver hand-chased "Navarre" pattern was introduced in 1908. An oval, boat-shape tray, it measures 11 3/4" in length, 7 3/4" in width, 1 3/8" in depth along the sides and 2 1/2" in height at the ends. The delicate, hand-chased design is composed of shields, shells, swags, fleur de lis, and other intricate designs. The pattern is as beautiful on the exterior as the interior. The mark is a wreath with a sword going though it. This insignia was used by the company from 1905 - 1929. Under the mark is stamped "Sterling" and "9403" the pattern number and "Navarre" the pattern name. There are no damages; some very light usage marks on the interior bottom. As near perfect as you will find this rare piece of American sterling holloware.
