Oscar Morten immigrated to the United States from Sweden in 1931 opening a studio in Chicago. The studio created over three hundred dog and horse models from 1931 - 1963. The figures are composed of ceramic over a metal skeleton. Over time the figures tend to craze and flake thus making it difficult to find a figure in perfect condition. This wonderful figure of a sitting boxer measures 3" in height. Ink stamped on the base "Copyright by the Morten Studio' and with original foil label "Royal Design by Morten Studio". There are no cracks, crazing or repairs; two small glaze flakes, one on his back and the other by his right ear. Could be easily repaired if so desired; priced accordingly.
