The Royal Staffordshire Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire, England was established in 1885 by A.J.Wilkinson. This lovely set of 6 luncheon plates are the Mikado pattern, circa 1890 - 1910. The floral pattern consists of a wide border and center medallion. The slightly scalloped blank is enhanced by embossed flowers with leaves and gold band on the rim. The plates measure 9" across and are stamped "Mikado - Royal Semi Porcelain - A J Wilkinson Ltd - England". Ltd was first used in 1896. There are no cracks, chips or repairs; the usual age crazing, light utensil marks and gold wear.
