Mookaite is a fabulous stone which I have just discovered and it's full of creamy whites, butterscotch yellows and rusty reds and browns. A type of jasper, it comes from one creek in Australia. I didn't know all of that when I bought the beads, just found their color combination very intriguing. In this necklace I've paired the mookaite roundels with round red poppy jasper and added some gold vermeil accents. The clasp is a hand-hammered "S" made of 14k gold fill. Length can be varied from 17 1/2" to 20" by using the textured 14k gold fill extender chain which is attached to the piece.

This is a very unusual, one-of-a-kind necklace, quite striking. It's a great accent for those who love the butterscotch tones but can't wear them in clothing - put this with browns or rusts and enjoy the yellow contrasts.
