SOLD Coin Earrings with Authentic Ancient Roman Bronze Coins

Rare and very difficult to find are coins like the ones on this pair of earrings, with faces and Latin writing still there after the passing of almost two thousand years. Hand-stamped by an artisan in ancient Rome, these coins passed from hand to hand in the second and third centuries a.d. before being buried as someone's savings account. Recently unearthed, the bronze is weathered to a lovely patina which looks fabulous with the 18k gold vermeil beads and 14k gold filled wire that now transform them into earrings for a modern woman.

On this particular pair the bottom two coins are 17mm and have very visible faces on the fronts, while the two smaller 14mm coins have lost most of the detail but are still quite intriguing. Length is 2 1/2" from the ear piercing.
