An antique Bavarian porcelain cabinet plate depicting a winged cupid and a neo-classical maiden / goddess from the the turn of last century is being offered for your consideration. The plate depicts a detailed scene of a cupid with his bow and arrow drawn at a beautiful maiden in a garden scene. The border of the plate has nosegays of pink flowers & ornate gold designs dropped among the detailed embossed edging. The plate was produced by Zeh, Scherzer & Co. of Rehau, Bavaria and measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter. It is in excellent condition; no chips, cracks or hairlines with only very minor gold lose to the ornate trim. The only thing of note is a slight rough feel to the foot rim; the area of the plate that contacts the table. This is a beautiful display piece worthy of any antique porcelain, cherub or cupid collection!
