A very special and rare signed Eugene (1952-1962) set of crystal and white faceted glass bead earrings and 3 strand necklace with large drop is offered for your consideration. The designer of this set, Eugene Schultz, was thought to have worked for Miriam Haskell because his jewelry is very similar in construction, but Haskell Jewelry denies that he ever worked for them. His jewelry is rare, hard to find, and much sought after by collectors and this set demonstrate why, it is magnificent! The drop is 2 3/4 inches long, the shortest strand of beads is 20 inches long, each facetted white bead is separated from the next by a tiny facetted brass spacer bead and the clip earrings are 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The set is very dramatic, unlike your typical white glass bead set and at this price, a bargain! The clip backs and box clasp all work properly. The earrings each have 3 accenting pear shaped clear white crystal rhinestones in addition to the crystal and white beads and you will also notice in the pictures that filigree back of the earrings is an antiqued silver-tone. The nail-heads used to attach the beads to the drop and the earrings are all brass as are the box clasp and the back of the drop, I have wondered why the back of the earrings is different, as I presume you are too. As I purchase these items together from the same estate sale and no one had an answer for me there, I reason, since jewelry lines were sold in individual pieces at the time these were produced and sets were 'built' by the store or individual purchaser, that the original owner preferred them at the time of purchase and little if any of the earring back is visible when worn. They do look gorgeous together and I have decided to leave them a set, as found. This set will be a prize addition to any collection and would make a fabulous gift for yourself or someone very special!
