A tall, gorgeous and ornate, late Victorian (1880-1901) Victoria Carlsbad Austria marked, teal porcelain portrait vase of a beautiful young lady dressed in Victorian finery is being offered for your consideration. The beautiful portrait of the seated young Victorian lady dressed in a mint green dress accented with bows gets more detailed the closer you look, it appears to be a transfer to which hand painted detailing has been added. The vase stands a tall 9 3/8 inches and measures 6 inches across the ornate reticulated handles. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines. There are the era typical anomalies of glaze pits, dust 'bumps' and iron specks. We have had this vase in our collection for several years and have recently discovered that the front top lip of the vase has been professionally modified or lowered at some time during it's life; we have taken several photos of this area from different angles for your viewing. It appears so perfectly natural and esthetically pleasing that the modification had gone undetected, but it has been modified. A wonderful display piece and a fabulous decorator's addition to any room in your home!
