SOLD 1920's Birdseye Maple Night Stand / Bed Side Table
This small birdseye maple stand would be perfect beside the bed. There's enough room on the top for a small lamp, a book and a clock - or you can give it your own personal touch. The triple serpentine front has a small dovetailed drawer and a door. The front legs have nicely detailed paw / claw feet. The stand has a finished birdseye back, just in case you want to place it where the back would show. The finish is original. The top has some signs of wear, as you would expect on a piece of this age. There is a red line on the lower left side. Curiously, there are a few bits of old newspaper that appear to be beneath the finish on the inside surface of the door. I believe this happened during the finishing process at the factory. There is a burnt in label inside the drawer that identifies the manufacturer as the Northern Furniture Company of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. We also have a very nice dresser that matches this piece.
The stand measures 18 inches by 18 inches across the top. It is 28 inches tall. It can be shipped by USPS Parcel Post, but as an oversize parcel, it will fall into their most expensive class. It weighs 32 pounds before packing.
