Quarter Sawn Oak Mantel with Hand Carved Basket of Flowers

This full size fireplace mantel is made predominately of beautiful quarter sawn Oak; also known as Tiger Oak. It has full columns and features a detailed hand carved basket of flowers. Below the basket of flowers is a swag of bellflowers with a trailing ribbon at each end. We decided not to replace the beveled mirror, even though it does have a few spots where the silvering is weak. There are also a few scratches in the glass, none of which is uncommon in an old mantle. In the past when we have replaced a mirror of this size with a new one, it usually costs about $70. The mantel is in very good refinished condition. It was neccesary to repair one place just behind the top of the right column. The wood was chipped there at the time the mantel was removed from the wall. The height of the mantel is 72 1/2 inches, width is 63 inches and depth is 11 1/2 inches.
