About Us
Brady's Collectibles is owned and operated by Cynthia Diane Foss. That's me! I developed a taste for collectibles as I was growing up in the deep woods of Aroostook County Maine. My great aunts and grandparents loved to bring us grandkids around their property and tell stories of how the farm ran "in the old days". They were especially fond of sharing the history of their possessions from the old firearms, to victorian furniture, to china, watches, and jewelry. I guess after surviving years and years of these old stories, it's no wonder that I spent hours roaming around antique shops as an adult. No matter how lonely and homesick I was, I always felt better in an antique shop. As I gained experience in my primary career as a speech pathologist, it became possible for me to purchase collectibles that I could only dream of as a young person. I started collecting contemporary paintings. Being a health professional, I always had a large library, so I began collecting books. I then started selling yard sale items on ebay. I became interested in vintage barware and china. My interest in knicknacks transitioned to tiffany jewelry and then broadened to collectible costume jewelry. As time went on, I began specializing in signed modern first editions of books and collectible jewelry. I still see an occasionable piece of glass,china, or barware that I can resist, but mostly books and jewelry are my areas of specialty.
