Mid 1950s University of Minnesota Golden Gophers basketball jersey. "MINNESOTA" sewn on front in tackle twill. Number "55" sewn on front and back in tackle twill. Piped trim sewn on shoulder straps. Original crotch piece included with all original buttons (see photos). Made by MacGregor, size 44. No rips or stains, beautiful condition. Jersey is made of durene (sometimes spelled dureen). Durene is cotton that is chemically treated to add luster and shine, and to prevent shrinkage and make easier to absorb fabric dyes.This jersey was never available for sale on the retail market. Jersey is not a replica or reproduction. Jersey was custom made for the player and team during the era listed. Jersey is sold in accordance to Ruby Lane's vintage clothing requirements.
