Doulton Burslem Creamer & Sugar Bowl, c1896

This late Victorian creamer and sugar bowl set was produced by Doulton & Co. of Burslem in England c1896. The delicate white base porcelain has been moulded and fluted in a very classical style. It is one of the finest and daintiest sets that I have come across. Measurements for the bowl are 4cm (1½ inches) in height and 8cm (3 1/8 inches) in diameter; and the dainty jug is 5.5cm (2 1/8 inches) in height. The green printed back-stamp on the base reads "Doulton, Burslem, England" and was in use c1891-1902. There is a small hairline on the spout of the creamer and another on the bowl (I only found this under a magnifying glass because it didn't ping) - these imperfections certainly do not detract from the overall good condition of this lovely classical set.
