Hattie Carnegie did a wonderful collection of Imitation Ivory and Imitation Jade pieces and this one is an exceptional piece from that collection. It features a fierce and mighty Dragon Guarding the Imitation Ivory Gates to the Inner Sanctum of I don't know you make that part up:). With 3 Gold-tone tassels hanging from the bottom of the intricately carved gates and a strong and sturdy chain for the necklace. The piece measures 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 for the gate, the dragon is 1 1/2 x 1, and the tassels are 2" long making the entire center piece 2 1/2 x 4 3/4". The necklace is 36" long. I believe there was once a pin in the back that has been removed but can easily be replaced. It is signed Hattie Carnegie in an Oval Cartouche at the bottom of the medallion. A wonderful and wearable conversation piece and work of art.
