Fine China & Porcelain, Transferware, Glass, Sewing Collectibles, Victorian Treasures & Small & Precious Items for Your Home.
This Victorian Porcelain Serving Plate has a really gorgeous shape, with dainty cut out handles, and relief molded leaves and scrolls all around the rim and reaching down into the plate. It is hand painted with tiny purple and mauve flowers, each flower and leaf is softly outlined in gold, as are the scrolls and handles. It measures a very impressive 11 1/4" wide, and the condition is excellent, it rings like a bell, with no damage of any sort, just a little normal wear, which is to be expected on a piece over 100 years old, and just adds to the beauty of this lovely piece. It is unmarked as were many older pieces, but I would put it around 1880 or earlier. Please be sure to click on picture for enlargements and more pictures.
