Fine German Porcelain Lobster Bowl Scalloped Edges

Here is quite the unusual fine porcelain lobster bowl. As you can see it is shaped like scalloped shells. Unusual coloring in this bowl with a deep deep pink or Amethyst luster on some of the edges. Some of the shells on the interior are tinged in a very pale blue and outlined in gold enameling. The full bold and brilliant lobster handle is in red right in the center – you can see his feelers, eyes and claws – they are very well defined. In my opinion this is a very unusual shape for a lobster bowl. Most of these were made in Germany during the 19th century – they were an extremely popular item. It measures 13 7/8”w x 10 ½” deep x 4 ½”h.
