Here is a totally outstanding pair of European clogs/shoes dating from the 19th century or very earlier 1900’s. They are completely hand made – every inch hand stitched. They are made of velvet and the soles are leather made up of several several layers – each layer is stitched through to the next. The leather on the soles of these shoes is very unusual it actually looks like what we would find inside of her shoes. The velvet tops which once were probably a beautiful shade of sapphire blue – have of course now faded. But the whole design that you are looking at on the front is hand stitched in a metallic thread that I could just imagine was once beautiful bright gold – almost as if these shoes were made for royalty. Oddly enough the condition is actually spectacular – if you are really extravagant and eccentric you could actually wear these shoes yourself. I bought these 25 years ago and I have had them displayed in my china cabinet. The condition is good they are not even rotted – spectacular. I think you would be quite happy with them! They measure 9 3/8” long.
