Excellent Fine example of early lighting. This astral / solar Lamp is a fascinating one. The rich brass column stands on a double step marble base .The decorative molding on the base is gold gilt brass. The shade is called a double tambour shade & it is original to the lamp. This style of shade is highly sought after. The bad news is that this shade has a round heat crack in it measuring about one inch. Ordinarily I would not buy a shade with damage, but the rarity of this shade over rides that rule! Otherwise this lamp is in very good condition. Originally fluid burning but, now fitted for electricity, so it is ready to enhance your classical American Decor. This lamp is a good investment opportunity.
