About Us

We are a mother / daughter team with combined experience of nearly 60 years in the Antiques & Collectibles Industry. Over the years we have set up at various Antiques & Collectibles Shows and Sales in the Alberta area and have been dabbling in the online market for about 8 years.

We offer a large variety smalls including things like china, pottery, glassware, toys, jewelry, linens, textiles and various other collectibles. Mom says soup to nuts and everything in between :)

Mom - Diane - grew up in a post Victorian home where the antiques and collectibles of today (and some were even considered antique or collectible when she was a girl) were used & displayed on a daily basis. By having these beautiful items around her, she grew to appreciate the beauty, usefulness and nostalgia that were abound in both the home she grew up in and the homes of other family members and friends. When Diane was a girl, nothing was thrown away cause it might have a use later. (She grew up with a bunch of pack rats). This sparked her later interest in having these lovely items for her own home and thus began the Saturday morning dash to garage sales in the area to discover that special something that she grew up with.

After several years of collecting and becoming quite the pack rat herself, Diane realized that she just could not possibly keep all of these wonderful things for herself. She began inquiring around the industry and having become known to many of the local dealers, was approached with the idea of becoming involved in the antiques and collectibles marketplace.

Daughter - Bonnie - with mom being raised in a post Victorian element and bringing it into the family home, the love for the items of yesteryear's developed in her as well. She loved to play in Grandmas, Moms or anyone's jewelry boxes that would allow her. It is little wonder she dearly loves Antique & Collectible Jewelry (it's her passion). By the age of 16, she was fully hooked and spent hours flipping through the pages of one reference book or another and toured endlessly around shows and sales asking questions and doing research on one interesting piece or another.

Bonnie later graduated from The DeVry Institute of Technology majoring in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Operations Management but never lost her love for Antiques & Collectibles. Now she is dedicated to using her schooling to ensure Blue Byrd Collectibles maintains a high standard of service, ethics and quality.
