Outstanding antique necklace of the most feminine and delicate design! A large oval amethyst dangles freeform within a circlet of 14KT gold and seed pearls. 36 seed pearls in all, even the bale is studded with two pearls. The amethyst is a narrow oval measuring approximately 22 mm x 12 mm. There is a small 2mm round amethyst anchoring the top of the design. The overall look is that of an oval lavaliere surrounded by pearls with a bow design at the top. A 17.5 inch 585 (14KT) gold chain with a lobster claw completes the piece. The lobster claw clasp on the chain may indicate the chain could be a newer addition since 1970. Exquisite antique condition.
