40's-50's BOLD Vermeil & Crystal Dangle Earrings

Typical of the style during the war, jewelry was big, bold and made of unique materials due to shortages of everything. This gorgeous pair is quite spectacular! The tops are Celluloid and Base Metal in a beautiful Floral and Leaf Design all covered in Vermeil. The Centers are Bright Pink Lucite Cabochons. (often made from scrap lucite used for fighter plane windshields and other military uses during the war) There is also a Pearl Bead Topper on the Crown. The tops are quite large measuring 2" x 1.25". The vermeil shows a few minor scratches and one of the pearl beads has a small scratch. Minor flaws on this wonderful pair. Now the dangles. All vermeil findings with many different designs. There a several shades of pink and clear Crystals and Glass Beads. Each bead or crystal is a different cut and facet. Each outside dangle has a Vermeil Cherub, the center one has a Teardrop Pink Crystal. From top to bottom they measure 8", with tight clip-on style backs! There is a Makers Mark stamped on the back of one of the earrings, but it is very faint. I am sure they are USA made as we were not importing much jewelry during the war. Very, very special pieces!
