Exquisite blotter folio Made of fine dark leather. The leather cover is decorated with a fine metal blossom, brass and pewter and fitted inside with an wonderful blue silk. Inside of the cover two letter compartments with wonderful fine hand painted flowers and swallows.

The blotter folios are consolidated in a wonderful booklet. On the cover a hand painting of a young couple. Water color on paper, glued on the fine leather . The landscape around of the couple is directly painted on the leather. On the back side of the booklet a lovely nest on a branch.

The leather inside is fine Suede, sand color.

The booklet is fitted with the same fine silk too.

I think this wonderful folio belongs to a young girl. It is decorated with so fine and elegant pictures. Possible the picture of the couple depicts this young lady and her fiancé.

The blotter folios are used, I am wondering what and whom does she wrote…

Inside embossed the name of the maker: J. Weidman K.K. Hoflieferant Wien. The phrase “K.K. Hoflieferant” means that Mister Weidman was a "imperial and royal" furnisher of the Court of the Habsburgs in Austria, Vienna.

This wonderful piece was made in the late 19th Century. It is in a very good condition. Some little wear, but no crack or restoration. The paintings are fabulous and at the same time touching.
