Head and hands are made of plaster and polychrome painted. The features are very fine mold. The clothes are a potpourri of cardinal velvet and brocade weaved with golden fiber. Please see the photographs, they say more as my description!

The statue has only bust fixed with a stack , like the most old crèche figurines. The stack is lined with a textile material – I didn’t open them, so I cannot say which material was used. Arms are stuffed.

The long cloth is starched and fixed on the wooden pedestal. Shirt and tunic are made of velvet, brocade and silk, the borders made of golden brocade. The shirt ends in a large handmade golden lace. The braided golden belt (metallic material) has a superb round metal buckle and ends with wonderful tassels, gold and cardinal, adorned with pearls.

The crèche figurine is in very good condition. The fingers have damages, some are repaired. Some small chips on the hairs. The clothes are wonderful preserved and in original condition. A small unbraid part of the belt. Nothing important, nothing what can affect the beauty of this piece! Important height, 20 inches!

Neapolitan crèche arts have a long tradition. This one, dated about 1840, is simply UNIQUE! The collector knows - hardly to find!
