Pair of Monumental Victorian Enameled Cranberry Lustres

This is a very beautiful and distinctive looking pair of Victorian enameled cranberry lustres. They came from the estate of a renowned local antique dealer. The size is 14 1/2" tall and 7 1/4" in diameter at the base. There are visible bubbles in the glass indicating they are finely hand blown. The enameling is very fine with an intricate design of flowers & leaves that form a floral drape effect. The gold trim is well worn but is visible in some places. The pair displays 16 eight inch prisms and 16 six and one quarter inch prisms. The enameling on the bulbous shape of the body is almost entirely worn away. The 6 1/4" prisms attach to that area. With 16 prisms catching the eye in that area the worn enameling is not a distraction. Most of the prisms have very minor damage to their tips. I chose not to replace the old prisms because you have to examine closely to notice. There is some wax and scratching inside (see picture). The dealer had marked these as C1880.
