SALE 1940s Hyalyn Pottery Chinese Themed Table Lamp

Hyalyn was established in Hickory, North Carolina in 1947 by Leslie Moody and is currently overlooked by many collectors. There is to be a book on Hyalyn so this oversight may soon be alleviated. They produced high fired pieces with a variety of nice glazes and later made mainly dish lines. The pottery expert and writer Mark Bassett collects Hyalyn and has identified this lamp as an early Hyalyn product produced for Rembrandt Lamps, the maker of the lamp parts.

This example is in fine condition. The pottery portion of the lamp measures 9 and 3/4 inches high, 6 inches wide, and 3 and 3/4 deep and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. It is glazed in a light blue with portions of the Chinese style flower decoration present on both sides highlighted in a darker blue. The base and top cap are a base metal painted blue. There are numerous small paint chips to the blue paint but as the metal is gray, they are not obvious and could be touched up if desired. The lamp stands almost 24 inches to the top of the glass shade.
