SALE Roseville 718 Art Nouveau c1900 Umbrella Stand

Bittersweet Antiques presents this rare Roseville #718 umbrella stand. It is not marked but it is pictured on a Factory page in the Bomm book, "Roseville in all its Splendor" on page 381. It is definitely Art Nouveau with sweeping, sensual forms of flowers and blended glazing. The umbrella stand is 22 inches tall with a 9 inch opening, hence its catalog listing of 718 9X22. The stand is in excellent shape with the exception of 1 rim hairline that has been professionally stabilized to prevent further migration. There are places on the sides where there is "extra" bits of clay that resulted in some of the blended glaze pattern effects. The bottom has been ground flat at the factory which was the norm for this early time period. There is fine crazing present that is most noticed on the solid colored interior. A fine addition to an early Art Nouveau decor.
